These terms are the agreement between you and PlainPoint for your use of Ngern Ngok. By using the app you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.
What Ngern Ngok is
A personal finance ledger. You record what you earn and spend, and Ngern Ngok organises, converts and charts it. It works on your device, and optionally syncs between your devices if you sign in.
What Ngern Ngok is not
Ngern Ngok is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and we are not a licensed advisor. Its forecasts, budget projections, subscription detections and anomaly alerts are calculations performed on figures you entered. They describe patterns in your own data; they do not predict the future and they do not know your circumstances. Decisions you make with money are yours.
Ngern Ngok is also not a bank, a payment service, or an account aggregator. It does not connect to any financial institution, does not move money, and holds no funds.
Your data is yours
You keep ownership of everything you put into Ngern Ngok. We claim no rights over your ledger. You can export the whole of it at any time from Settings › Backup and Restore, and you can delete your account and its contents whenever you choose.
How we handle data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Accuracy, and who is responsible for it
- The figures are the ones you entered. Ngern Ngok cannot verify them against anything.
- Exchange rates are indicative. They come from a free public source, refresh at most once a day, and are not the rate any bank will give you. Converted totals are estimates.
- Keep your own backups. Export a copy of anything you would be upset to lose. Sync is a convenience, not a guaranteed backup service, and a deleted account cannot be recovered.
Your account
Signing in requires a Google account, and you are responsible for its security. One person, one account. Do not use Ngern Ngok to store data on behalf of someone who has not agreed to these terms.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to access the data of another user, disrupt the service, reverse the app to extract credentials, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or terminate an account that does, and will say why where we are permitted to.
Availability
Ngern Ngok runs on your device and keeps working offline, which is the point of it. The sync service is provided as-is and may be unavailable, interrupted, or changed. We do not promise a level of uptime, and we may discontinue the sync service with reasonable notice — your local ledger and your ability to export it would be unaffected.
Price, and Ngern Ngok Plus
Ngern Ngok is free in the Android app: the ledger, cloud sync, budgets, charts, forecasts and insights, backups, and 10 slip scans a month. The features you have today will not be taken away and sold back to you. Ngern Ngok Plus is an optional subscription that adds two things: up to 1,000 slip scans a month, and Ngern Ngok on the web, in any browser, signed into your account.
- Plans and price. Monthly or yearly. The price, in your currency and including any tax, is shown in the app and in Google Play before you confirm, and that is the price you pay.
- Free trial. The yearly plan starts with a free trial, offered once per Google Play account. When it ends, the yearly price is charged unless you cancelled before the trial ended.
- Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, charged to your Google Play account, until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.
- Cancelling. In Google Play › Subscriptions, or from Settings › Ngern Ngok Plus. You keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for. Cancelling does not touch your ledger.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. We cannot issue them ourselves.
- Your account. Subscribing requires signing in, so that Plus follows you to your other devices and to the web app. Subscribe in the Android app; the web app cannot sell it.
- The 1,000-scan ceiling is there to stop misuse of a stolen account rather than to limit anyone scanning their own slips.
- Price changes apply only from your next renewal, and Google Play tells you in advance, as its rules require.
If Plus ends, you are back to 10 scans a month and the web app locks, but nothing is lost: your whole ledger, including every transaction you scanned, stays in the Android app. The privacy policy, these terms and account deletion stay open on the web to everyone.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Ngern Ngok is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data — including financial decisions made using information shown in the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use Ngern Ngok after that means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Thailand, and disputes fall to the courts of Thailand. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country.
